At de Volksbank, our mortgage portfolio is subject to the Advanced Internal Ratings-Based (AIRB) approach. You’ll be responsible for regulatory compliance of our mortgage credit risk model, as well as the performance of the model and the quality of the data. This involves performance testing and data quality monitoring.

You’ll be working closely with multiple stakeholders, the business, the ECB, auditors, Finance and the Risk & Compliance Hub and discussion with the Executive Committee is to be taken care of. Our AIRB approach means that changes in the model, e.g. as a result of the ever changing regulations and increasingly advanced data sets, are closely scrutinised. This is why you’ll regularly confer with the ECB, facilitate on-site inspections and attend Joint Supervisory Team meetings.

As Team Lead you’ll be coaching your team, inspiring them and helping them develop their skills and careers, while raising the team’s performance as a whole. You’ll also be responsible for your team’s capacity in terms of quality and staff numbers. As we only started working agile in March this year, this is another area in which you will coach your team. And you’ll be responsible for your team’s backlog management. In addition, the Credit Risk Control Unit being part of the Risk Expertise Centre, you’ll be a member of the Expertise Centre’s leadership team, helping us put risk management on a higher plane.
